A lot of Crystal Palace fans are loving footage posted by the club on Twitter showing the highlights of the side’s great 2-1 victory over Watford in the 2016 FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
The Eagles took an early lead thanks to a Yannick Bolasie header from a corner, but Troy Deeney levelled for the Hornets in the second half, also from a corner, via BBC Sport.
The victory was sealed by striker Connor Wickham, who rose high over defender Nathan Ake to head home from a Pape Souare cross to send the Eagles to face Manchester United in the final.
The Englishman has only scored 11 goals in his 50 appearances for the South London side, and this was definitely the most important one, per Transfermarkt. He is now on loan at Sheffield Wednesday following a move in the January transfer window.
It is wondered whether more could have come from the forward, but injuries have seen him miss 96 games at the Eagles.
Palace have beaten Watford twice at Wembley in recent years, via 11v11, and one fan commented on this, saying, “Name something more iconic than Palace beating Watford at Wembley.”
