Crystal Palace managed to claim all three points when they hosted Bournemouth on Tuesday despite going down to 10 men after 19 minutes. Jeffrey Schlupp got the only goal of the night, but many Eagles fans focused their praise on Jordan Ayew who put in a shift to make sure the win was secured.
He was rated 8/10 for the performance by Football London, who said he “worked hard up front”, but they gave special mention to his “superb” defensive work from set pieces too. The Ghanaian has started 14 of Palace’s 15 league games so far this season and has scored four goals in that time despite costing just £2.52m in summer.
The club’s official Twitter account posted a clip of Ayew defending down near the right corner flag, where he manages to use his quick feet to find space and clear the ball. Many fans took notice of the moment and replied to the tweet expressing just how pleased they were with his performance.
