Crystal Palace: Fans praise for Joel Ward following club tweet

A lot of fans are praising Crystal Palace player Joel Ward the club tweeted out a video of the defender when he looked after a young mascot who was recovering from a serious illness.

The five-year-old named Brodie was invited to walk out with Joel Ward for Palace’s match against Newcastle, a game which saw the Eagles claim all three points in a 1-0 victory, via BBC Sport. The young girl got to walk out with her favourite player (Ward) when she was well enough to come to Selhurst Park.

Brodie was at the hospital ward that both Max Meyer and Ward visited over Christmas, and the two loved how happy and energetic she was despite her situation, so arranged for her to be a mascot.

Fans have loved the footage showing the great gesture by the footballers and have flooded to Twitter to express their joy over it.

The right-back joined the South London side in 2012 from Portsmouth and has since made 238 appearances both in the Championship and Premier League, per Transfermarkt. Now, he is estimated at around £3.60 million.
