A lot of Crystal Palace fans are discussing former player Hayden Mullins after a fan asked on Twitter whether he was a ‘hero’ or ‘zero’ during his time in South London.
The defensive midfielder made 110 appearances for the Eagles’ first team across five seasons from 1998 to 2003, via Transfermarkt, and scored twice in that time.
The player is a product of the club’s youth academy but sadly left on a free transfer to go to London rivals West Ham in 2003 and has enjoyed spells at Portsmouth, Reading and Birmingham throughout his career. [via Transfermarkt]
It is fair to say that he is a example of the type of talent that habitually comes from the club’s academy and fellow youth products like Victor Moses, Nathaniel Clyne, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha emphasise how good the youth set up is, as per Transfermarkt.

Many Eagles fans flooded to the tweet to praise Mullins and it seems like he has a left a good mark on the club. Even though he is currently on the coaching staff at Watford, it will be interesting to see if he returns in a coaching role to Selhurst Park in the future.
