Many Crystal Palace fans are absolutely loving a picture of star talisman Wilfried Zaha meeting January signing Jean-Philippe Mateta for the first time.
Palace tweeted the photo of Zaha meeting Mateta with the caption: ‘Link up incoming’, leading one supporter to label the new star duo as ‘unreal’.
The South London side announced that the French forward signed on Thursday morning, and this is an exciting acquisition for the club as they have managed to pick up a young attacker who has ten goals in 17 games this season (Transfermarkt).
With the Palace star already on eight goals and two assists this season (Transfermarkt), both players are on great form this campaign and it is easy to see why this image has caused such a good reaction.
Mateta comes into a Palace side where the forwards this season have struggled for goals. Christian Benteke, Jordan Ayew and Michy Batshuayi have only scored four goals between them (WhoScored).
Therefore, there is a little pressure on the new boy’s shoulders to help Zaha when it comes to the hitting the back of the net, and hopefully Mateta will do this sooner rather than later.
