Crystal Palace: Fans rave over Yohan Cabaye following tweet

A lot of Crystal Palace supporters are raving over former player Yohan Cabaye after fan Jason Cadle asked the Eagles faithful whether he was a ‘hero’ or ‘zero’ in their eyes.

The Frenchman’s arrival was a real sign of intent when he was signed in the summer of 2015 for £12.51 million from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, per Transfermarkt. It looked like the club were trying to highlight that they were not just in England’s top flight to avoid relegation but to push on and make a name for themselves in the division.

He scored against Norwich City on his debut for the Eagles and this added to the expectations, but he continued to to be a great player in the middle of the pitch for the club and oozed a quality that fans had not seen for a while. He went on to make 109 appearances for the South London side, scoring 10 goals and picking up six assists, per Transfermarkt.

He wasn’t in the team for goals or assists, but more so to help both the defence and attack, and his statistics highlight how good he was at both as in his three seasons at the club he made on average 3.2,(2015/16) 1.9,(2016/17) and 2.3 tackles a game (2017/18), whilst also averaging 1.5, (2015/16), 1.1, (2016/17), and 1.2, (2017/18) key passes per match, via WhoScored.

Clearly fans understood how crucial a player he was in the squad judging by their replies to the tweet, with one even describing him as an “incredible signing”:
