Many Crystal Palace fans have given their response after Andros Townsend lambasted a club tweet following their 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
Following the Eagles’ shock result in Manchester, the club’s Twitter account posted a video which was seemingly mocking United’s full-back Ashley Young after a one-on-one with Wilfried Zaha.

During the video, Zaha dribbles directly at Young and although Zaha makes him look a bit silly by making him slide over at one point, Young proves to be the winner of the duel as he blocks the cross that Zaha eventually puts in.
The Palace Twiter account posted the video of the match up with the caption “Wilf had him dancing”.
Andros Townsend – who was dropped to the bench for Saturday’s win for Palace – then gave a strong response to the tweet, criticising the club’s twitter page saying that they should be applauding Young’s defensive work rather than mocking it.
Townsend said: “A 34 y/o ex winger vs one of the leagues best wingers…. he gets destroyed twice yet still manages to block the cross…. we should be applauding this not making fun of it #Respect .”
Palace fans have given a mixed response on Twitter to Townsend’s reply, with many criticising him saying that it was just a joke.
