Many Crystal Palace fans are fuming following the South London side’s loss to Newcastle, and a statistic which doesn’t portray Roy Hodgson in the best of lights has also frustrated the Selhurst Park faithful.
According to @OptaJoe, Palace have lost each of their last seven Premier League games in which they’ve had at least 50 percent possession, scoring only once from 87 shots in these ties.
This emphasises that the club are struggling to finish games off when they are in control and some creativity is badly needed in the middle third to create chances for the likes of Wilfried Zaha (when available), Eberechi Eze and Jordan Ayew.
It is fair to see why so many fans are not pleased with the current results, with one supporter lambasting the ‘shocking’ revelation from Opta on Twitter.
The Eagles managed 12 attempts on Friday but only had three shots on target, and this is definitely something that Hodgson has to sort out to pick up some results.
