A lot of Crystal Palace fans have been discussing the latest transfer news as they have been linked to defender James Tarkowski.
According to The Mirror, the Eagles are interested in the Burnley defender but have not yet submitted a bid. They could face a battle to try and acquire the player as fellow Premier League side Leicester City are also thought to be keen.
With all of the centre-backs at Crystal Palace who have played this season all 30 years-old and above, per WhoScored, they need to add some younger talent in that position as soon as possible.
Not only does Tarkowski fit that criteria as he is 27, he has also been impressing whilst playing for Burnley, even earning call ups to the England squad in the past.
This season he manages on average 5.1 clearances and 1.7 tackles and interceptions a game whilst also grabbing one goal, via WhoScored. He would surely be an astute signing for the South London side.
However with Burnley and Palace normally battling for similar places in the league it is worth wondering whether the £18m-valued ace would join the South London side, especially if Leicester, who are in the top four currently, are also interested.
Fans had mixed reactions to the news. Some think he would be a good addition, with one suggesting he could replace Mamadou Sakho, who has been linked with a departure. However, others think that defence is not an area that they should prioritise in the summer window.
