Many Crystal Palace fans were raving over the news that Roy Hodgson had decided to start Eberechi Eze against Leeds, and they were proven right when he scored a superb free-kick.
Hodgson has often preferred the more defensive Jeffrey Schlupp. However, on Saturday he decided to go with the summer signing from Queens Park Rangers. It is a big day for the midfielder to prove himself on only his third start and he certainly has.
Hodgson is favouring a 4-4-2 currently with Eze playing as a left-midfielder when he starts, so the Englishman will have to adapt in order to be a consistent starter.
Many Palace fans are hoping manager Hodgson will allow Eze to have a little bit more attacking freedom and hopefully the 22 year-old, who picked up 14 goals and eight assists for Queens Park Rangers last season, can start to show his attacking quality a bit more as he adapts to the Premier League.
Here is how Palace fans reacted to the news:

A good team!
SO HAPPY that Eze is starting. Had to happen for me. Offers such a maturity and calmness in possession as well as another creative outlet.
No Batshuayi is frustrating. He’s been great the last few weeks.
COYP!! Let’s get that result #CPFC #CRYLEE ❤️💙 https://t.co/lX0EUhOaWM
