Many Crystal Palace fans have responded on Twitter after Jordan Ayew scored the one and only goal in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Sao Tome.
The Ghanaian team travelled to the African island for an Africa Cup of Nations qualification match. The away side had too much for Sao Tome and overcame them 1-0 thanks to a Jordan Ayew penalty.

The 28-year-old forward has been in fine form this season. So far, he has been able to keep Christian Benteke out of the starting line-up since the second game of the season against Sheffield United. He is the top scorer in red and blue so far this season, having scored four times from 12 matches – a large portion of Palace’s 10 goals this campaign, the second-lowest out of all the teams in the league.
Ayew has now racked up 37 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring six times and assisting twice, but may face a battle for game time after the upcoming January window, with Roy Hodgson admitting to wanting forwards in the new year, per Evening Standard.
