Crystal Palace have extended Roy Hodgson’s contract by one year (@CPFC), causing a lot of debate across the Palace fanbase as to whether the 72-year-old deserved it.
Hodgson’s contract was due to run out in the summer, but the Palace hierarchy are clearly happy with the impact the ex-England manager has made since he came to Selhurst Park in September 2017.
Hodgson has managed 115 matches whilst at the Eagles, winning 40, drawing 27, and losing 48 (Transfermarkt) and has finished 11th and 12th in his two seasons at the club. These stats are very respectful for a club whose aim is normally Premier League survival but some fans have raised issues with Hodgson for the defensive way he sets up and also with his substitutions during matches.
Roy, who has been a loyal supporter of Crystal Palace since his youth, became the oldest manager to ever manage in the Premier League back in February 2019. He overtook managerial legend Sir Bobby Robson after he turned 71 years old and 92 days. (Evening Standard)

Would rather be back in the championship than keep watch Roy ball. Used to find Pulis and Allardyce football entertaining. Haven’t been this frustrated watching palace since 2009 and even then, didn’t expect anything from the team.
