Ah. It’s that time of year again when Crystal Palace play Liverpool at home.
Palace have had a lot of joy over Liverpool over the years. Indeed, they still remain the last team to win an away game at Anfield in April 2017 – a long 30 months ago.
However enjoyable that win was for Palace fans it still did not come close to matching the infamous ‘Crystanbul’. The stakes were huge for the visitors in 2014 as they needed three points to stay within the title race. After taking a 3-0 lead, they decided to chase more goals to try and catch up with Manchester City’s impressive goal difference record, a decision, no doubt, they will be regretting to this day.
Not only did it contribute to the Reds not winning the league, but it put the cherry on the cake for a fantastic season back in the Premier League for Palace and Tony Pulis as they staved off relegation.
