Many Crystal Palace fans are reacting to footage which shows their only permanent January signing Scott Banks who is currently on loan at Alloa Athletic.
The 18-year-old Scottish midfielder was bought by Palace from Dundee United for £270k and was immediately loaned out to Alloa Athletic, who currently play in the Scottish second division per Transfermarkt. Indeed, he has played four times since he went on loan and assisted once.
The club currently sit eighth in the Scottish Championship after achieving promotion and Banks is presumably seen by Palace as a player of the future.
The Eagles actually have the second average oldest squad in the League and, James McArthur, who currently plays for the Eagles in the position Banks would occupy as a central midfielder is 32 years old and his contract runs out next summer. With that in mind, if the 18-year-old can perform well whilst on loan, he could potentially impose himself on first-team proceedings.
However whilst some are excited by the prospect, others have been quick to point out the division he is currently playing in at the moment.
Here is what fans were saying about the Scottish midfielder:
Scott Banks taking liberties with Alloa. The lad is going to be some player.

Looking forward to him coming back next season and rotting on the bench behind an army of DMs – Meyer/Camarasa style
