Crystal Palace: Fans react to Luka Milivojevic comments after drubbing

Many Crystal Palace fans have responded on Twitter after Luka Milivojevic spoke to the club website following their 4-0 drubbing to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Palace skipper spoke of how difficult the day was for the Eagles, however, he managed to see the positives, saying that he and his teammates can ‘learn from any defeat’.

This seemed to irk the Palace fans somewhat, who were clearly still upset about the loss and the manner of how it happened.

He told the club website: “[It was a] very tough day for us. I have no good explanation at the moment straight after the game. But you could see in the first 20 or 30 minutes they were better than us. When they scored the first, second or third you try to correct some things but the game is going – it’s not easy.

“At half time we tried to stick together, to go for the second half, to try to play better, to improve a bit more and in the end they deserved three points. That’s it.

“In my opinion, from any defeat you can learn a lot if you do good analysis of the match. We can see and correct a lot of things from this game, to try to not repeat in future. It was not easy because, in football, always you make some mistakes but we try to put them on minimum if we can. You know, we’re going to analyse the game next week and prepare for Wolves.”

It was a demolition job for Spurs on Saturday, with Palace being outplayed in pretty much every department. Indeed, Mamadou Sakho’s comeback was nightmarish and Spurs were out of sight by half-time as they went into the changing rooms 4-0 up.

Palace had a half-chance at 0-0 when nobody managed to latch onto Cheikhou Kouyate’s pull-back across goal after a free-kick from Luka Milivojevic, however, when Tottenham went down the other end of the pitch and scored just a few moments later, Palace never really looked like threatening again.

For many Palace fans, this interview came a bit too soon, with lots lambasting the team’s performance and just giving their general view of the game; unsurprisingly, none of it was positive.
