Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have responded to rumours about captain Luka Milivojevic leaving the club, and unsurprisingly, they’re not very happy about it.
The Eagles captain has been linked with a move to Lazio, as per Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), due to the player going into the final year of his contract (Transfermarkt).
Milivojevic has been Palace’s top scorer over the past two seasons, scoring 12 goals in the last campaign and 10 in the season prior.
It’s suggested that the Serbian is valued at €20m (roughly £18.29m) by the Croydon-based club, but the report also states that there is a belief that he could be available for half of that price.
Allegedly, Milivojevic ‘doesn’t seem intent on renewing’ his Palace contract, leaving the door open to much speculation.
It’s said that Palace might sell if an ‘appealing offer’ comes to the table.
Milivojevic joined Palace in January 2017 for an undisclosed fee, according to Sky Sports.
Palace fans have not taken lightly to the rumours about Milivojevic’s departure, with many saying that they would be “gutted” to see the captain leave the club. Others have described him as “irreplaceable”, and noted how Palace do not have time to replace him. One fan even said they couldn’t blame him for not wanting to extend his deal with Aaron Wan-Bissaka having left the club and Wilfried Zaha also allegedly wanting out.
Here are some of the responses below…
Don’t want to lose him, my favourite player

Surprised by that, he genuinely seems to love the club, fans and be proud to be captain. Think we need to up our effort to keep him.

For me he's irreplaceable! Does all the background work that goes unnoticed, scores the odd banger & is a free kick specialist! I think he has the right to want more money, he was IMO our best player last season! Think he'll be around for another, offer him a bigger contract.

Disappointing to hear and doesn’t really correlate with how he talks about he club. However if the right offer comes in and he isn’t going to sign then we should cash in. IMO he is replaceable, but would still be gutted to see him choose another club.
