Many Crystal Palace fans are reacting to the ongoing transfer saga around Christian Benteke following a new update on his future.
According to The Mirror and tweeted out by @cpfc_xtra, Sam Allardyce is determined to persuade Christian Benteke to cut his losses and make the move from Crystal Palace to West Brom.
The forward started in the frustrating loss to West Ham United, and had a decent performance as he won eight aerial duels and managed to pick up an assist (SofaScore).
The Belgian forward has managed 133 goals throughout his career. He has scored three goals in 13 Premier League games. However, across the 2018/19 and the 2019/20 seasons, Benteke only managed three goals in 44 appearances (Transfermarkt).
One fan called him ‘utterly washed’ and it is understandable to see why many believe he is finished due to him being 30 and the fact that he has not managed to score many goals over the last few seasons. Many feel like now is the best time for him to leave.
