Crystal Palace: Fans reminisce over great playoff night

A lot of Crystal Palace fans are buzzing after a throwback post on Twitter from the club celebrating a great playoff victory against Sunderland back in 2004.

Many fans feel like the the best way to get promoted is via the emotional rollercoaster of the playoffs due to that great party you can have at Wembley if you win, but first you have to get through the semi final, and the Eagles did this the hard way against Sunderland, via BBC Sport.

The South London side were 3-2 up going into the second leg, but looked to be heading out of the competition as they were 2-0 down in the second match until the 90th minute when Darren Powell scored to send the tie to extra-time.

The game then went to penalties and Palace advanced to Wembley with a 5-4 victory, and they would eventually go on to get promoted to the Premier League, via Crystal Palace.
