Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to show their support for Andros Townsend as the 28-year-old continues his recovery.
Townsend has been out for a while due to what manager Roy Hodgson has described as a “long-term injury”, but he recently shared a picture of himself doing some indoor work, suggesting that his rehabilitation is going well. Supporters were glad to see him making strides towards full fitness, with the winger being a player who definitely brings something to the Eagles’ squad.
For example, he can cause defenders problems down the flank with his pace and dribbling. This season, the England international has averaged 1.8 dribbles per Premier League game — only Wilfried Zaha (5) is completing more out of the players who have featured regularly under Hodgson (via WhoScored).
So when you consider that, the team could undoubtedly do with having Townsend back. That is at least how fans feel as they took to Twitter to wish him a speedy recovery and express their desire for him to return to the side.
