Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend has admitted that he remains very happy at the club and has hinted that he would like to extend his contract.
The 13-time England international has been at Selhurst Park since joining from Newcastle United in 2016 and has gone on to make 140 appearances for them, scoring 15 goals and providing 23 assists (Transfermarkt).
His current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2021, but it seems as though he would be keen to commit to the club for even longer than that.
Indeed, when asked on the White and Sawyer show on talkSPORT (26th February 2020) about potentially penning a new deal in south London, he hinted that would be something he would like to do by admitting that he was still extremely happy at the Eagles.
“I think that’s obviously a question for the chairman [Steve Parish], or the owners. I’m extremely happy at Palace. I’ve spent the best years of my career here,” said Townsend.
“I’ve got under 18 months now so when you see the chairman, do ask him that question!”
It seems that plenty of Crystal Palace fans would like the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man to be given a new contract by the club, with many taking to Twitter to admit they would like him to stay for longer.
