Some Crystal Palace fans are hoping to see their club launch a raid on Norwich City for left-back Jamal Lewis.
The Sunday Mirror (via PinkUn) recently reported that the 21-year-old is on the south London club’s radar in a development that has really pleased a bunch of supporters, with one deeming him as a “quality player”. When fit, Roy Hodgson does have the likes of Patrick van Aanholt and Jairo Riedewald to call upon, but that does not mean Lewis would be a needless addition.
In the Premier League this season, the Norwich man has averaged 1.4 tackles per game, which is more than Van Aanholt’s 1.3 and Riedewald’s 1.1 (via WhoScored). He has also averaged an impressive 1.4 dribbles, vastly superior to the 0.5 and 0.4 Van Aanholt and Riedewald have recorded per match respectively, suggesting Lewis could bring plenty to this Palace side defensively and going forward.
Whether relegation-threatened Norwich would be willing to sell this month remains to be seen. Nevertheless, it is a transfer that these Palace fans would very much be open to…
