The latest reports are suggesting that Crystal Palace will battle fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur for Ryan Fraser in the summer transfer window.
According to the Express, Palace will look to beat Spurs to Fraser as Jose Mourinho is unconvinced over the player. He is out of contract in the summer and the South London side hope they can get a deal on the cheap.
It is clear to see why Mourinho has recently become unconvinced over the 26 year-old. He has not had the greatest season as he has scored only one goal and has just four assists this campaign, per Transfermarkt. However there is a reason why he was linked to Arsenal in the past, and this is shown by his statistics in the 2018/19 season.

He managed seven goals and 14 assists, per WhoScored, whilst averaging 1.3 shots and 2.4 key passes a game, as well as being fouled 1.8 times per match. This highlights that Fraser is definitely a good Premier League player when at his best, and perhaps his poor form has not been down to his quality but more confidence as the Cherries currently sit 18th in the Premier League, via BBC Sport, so the whole club has had a poor campaign, not just the winger.
The Scottish international, who has 16 Premier League goals to his name, perhaps just needs a renaissance at a new club to bring back the quality that many have seen from him in the division. Palace could be the perfect place to do that as they are a club that like to sign Premier League stars who are surplus to requirements, and they seem to get the best out of them. Great examples of these are Jeffrey Schlupp, and more recently James McCarthy.
Palace also have the second oldest squad on average in the league, per 101greatgoals, so it is another good reason as to why they should look to sign Fraser who at 26, still potentially has his best years ahead of him.
