Crystal Palace fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping they can get this deal over the line as a marquee signing this summer.
According to French outlet Le10Sport, the Eagles are battling with Real Madrid to land Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
It was widely reported that Real Madrid would land the industrial midfielder after his value had risen following an impressive time at the Euros with France.
It’s believed the Magpies have set an asking price of £35 million, which made punters believe that only Los Blancos would be willing to spend that money on the midfielder.
But there’s been a twist in the saga and now Palace are now leading the race to sign him.
He’s not the only big-money target that Alan Pardew has set his sights on as he is also eyeing Christian Benteke from Liverpool, who is also set to cost over £30 million.
