We here at the Transfer Tavern feel that if Crystal Palace could get this window just right like Allardyce did at his previous club side Sunderland, then they should evade the drop from the Premier League.
Palace must be very fearful in this market that they get things just right, one wrong move and it could well drop them into the drop zone!
We all know Allardyce isn’t a manager for relegation and does whatever it takes to ensure his sides remain in the top division, and with the talent already at his disposal surely they have enough to keep themselves in the Premier League.
He has a striker that fits his style perfectly in Benteke and not only that but two French internationals in Cabaye and Mandanda, he must keep them up surely!
With that in mind it is important that Crystal Palace are fearful of these TWO things happening during the January window…
LOSING BENTEKE
The big Belgian must be feeling in a bit of a loop, going from a relegation battle with Aston Villa to then getting a big money move to Liverpool, before then making the switch to Palace in the summer hoping to resurrect from the disaster of a time at Anfield.
With that being said he’s now linked with a big move again this time to PSG!
It’s vital for the club that they keep him as in their most dire moment of need he can be the difference between staying up or going down, when he’s in the mood for a game!
SIGNING FROM ABROAD
Signing a player from outside the Premier League can be really brilliant at times and we’ve witnessed some of the best players come externally from the league, BUT!
What’s best to rely on at this stage of a season and even more so when you are in a relegation battle is bringing in players with experience of the league.
The Premier League is arguably the best league in world football and it’s not always easy to adapt to the demands of it, but at this stage Palace can’t afford to take many risks so they must look to recruit players who’ve experienced this situation before – the likes of Jenkinson and Brady would be perfect fits for Allardyce’s side.
