Many Crystal Palace fans are frustrated after hearing the latest injury update from manager Roy Hodgson in the build-up to the huge match against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Journalist for The Athletic Matt Woosnam was at the press conference previewing the match. With star players like Wilfried Zaha on the sidelines, many Palace fans would have been hopeful to hear a positive injury update from the manager.
However it seems like the problems are even worse as Woosnam reported: “A couple of players have knocks, James McCarthy trained today. ‘Won’t be a vast difference (in terms of availability), if we’re really unlucky it could be worse’ Zaha ‘still suffering from the injury’ but no suggestion as to when he might return. #CPFC”
The fact that there could be more injuries than the nine the Eagles already have is a huge issue, especially due to their poor form and the congested fixture list, and it is understandable to see why the South London faithful are not happy.
The club are 14th as things stand (SofaScore) and only four points ahead of 17th placed Newcastle, so the depleted squad needs to start picking up results as soon as possible before the atmosphere around the club gets any worse.
Here is how Palace fans reacted to the news:
“I am very sad to announce that Brighton are guaranteed victory against us and will go above us on Monday.I also will be repping neal Maupay as a Brighton fan has requested for me to do that.”
