Crystal Palace are already looking towards the January transfer window. The latest reports are suggesting they are looking for a bargain, in the shape of Blades star John Lundstram.
If the Blades hadn’t used a clause in his contract which keeps him at Bramall Lane for another year, then he would have become a free agent in the recent summer.
However it seems he will be departing as The Star are reporting, via @cpfc_xtra, that the Blades are prepared to sanction John Lundstram’s departure in January before he becomes a free agent next summer. The South London side are linked, along with Burnley and Rangers.
The reaction from the Palace fan base to this rumour has been mixed. However, this could be a very astute signing, especially due to the fact that midfielders like James ‘Macca’ McArthur are coming towards the end of their careers, as some of the fans below pointed out.
Chris Wilder has praised his player in the past, as he said Lundstram was ‘outstanding’ during a great run of form last term.
The Blades midfielder managed five goals and three assists in his first season in the Premier League last campaign. He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch too, as he managed 1.4 tackles and 1.3 clearances (WhoScored).
Here is how Palace fans are reacting to this Lundstram transfer rumour:
📰 Sheffield UTD are prepared to sanction John Lundstram’s departure before he becomes a free agent this summer, providing an acceptable bid is received.
Crystal Palace, Burnley and Rangers were all reportedly monitoring his situation during the last window.

He would be a good option to replace Macca when he hangs them up.
On a free, that could end up being a very Palace like bit of business.
Freedman is a bloodhound for a bargain.
