Cut losses: Liverpool must axe injury prone Lallana and replace England man with these 2 stars this summer

Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking towards the future under Jurgen Klopp, and it’s certainly looking good as he continues to plan for the long-term. However, that very same future is not looking so good for injury-prone Adam Lallana, who yet again faces a stretch on the sidelines.

Klopp has had a couple of years at Liverpool now and, this season more than any, we’re starting to see all the fruits of the hard labour he has put in. Liverpool are an explosive attacking force that, according to our barman, could certainly match any team in Europe on their day, as we have seen in the Champions League on many occasion.

One player who has dipped his toe in and out of the team for the majority of the season, due to injury so far, is England man, Adam Lallana. He his one of Liverpool’s most creative players on his day but Klopp must be starting to lose patience with him, much like our regulars are in the pub. Furthermore, many of the punters in the bar think Klopp should be now talking to other targets and, looking to axe the former Saints man before he becomes a liability.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at TWO players he thinks Liverpool should be turning their attention to this summer…

Thomas Lemar

The versatile Monaco player could be the perfect signing for Klopp, he can play down either wing or through the middle. With Liverpool looking to bolster their midfield options and possibly bring in a player that can interchange with the front three, Lemar could be the answer, however, he would command a fair fee to transfer to the North West.

Still, many of our regulars believe the Frenchman could be a real success at Anfield, despite only grabbing a couple of goals this term in Ligue 1.

Alisson

The Brazilian goalkeeper has made a name for himself in Serie A with Roma. Indeed, he has fantastic shot-stopping capabilities and is highly regarded as Brazil’s number one goalkeeper.

With all the confusion over the number one jersey in the Liverpool team, Klopp has yet to decide who his go-to keeper is, despite Karius seemingly winning the battle in recent times. This has reverberated into the defence in the early part of the season and, did cause mass confusion among the players, not knowing from one week to the next who is behind them.

A goalkeeper of real quality should have been high on Klopp’s list, and Alisson ticks all of the boxes needed.
