Danny Rose eyes move to Marseille

Tottenham Hotspur will have their sights set firmly on challenging for the Premier League title having enjoyed a strong start to the current campaign.

The North London club just seem to get better and better under Mauricio Pochettino, with a title challenge not too far away after finishing in the top-four last season. Although, the Argentine may have to say goodbye to one of his first team players, as according to The Daily Star, Danny Rose is eyeing a move away to Marseille.

Indeed, the left-back’s place in the England squad is under threat with manager Gareth Southgate naming his pool of players on Thursday for the forthcoming matches against Spain and Switzerland.

His chances of a move, either permanently or on loan, could now depend on French club Marseille.

Interestingly, the 28-year-old has been linked with French giants Paris Saint-German and German side Schalke, but both those moves look to be non-starters.

THE VERDICT:

Spurs have already accepted that they’ll need to offload Danny Rose at some point in the future as he is no longer a part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

Therefore, the only way that the Englishman is going to break into Gareth Southgate’s England squad is by opting for a move away, which is where Marseille come into the picture.

Ben Davies and Kyle Walker-Peters remain ahead of the 28-year-old in the pecking order, so it comes as no surprise that he’s seeking a move away.
