David Brooks should think twice before leaving Bournemouth as Tottenham circle

Bournemouth could be in for a very difficult summer as their star players continue to be linked with moves away from the Vitality Stadium.

As well as Callum Wilson, £18m-rated David Brooks (Transfermarkt) is also now said to be a target for the Premier League elite, with The Sun reporting that Tottenham are interested in signing the 21-year-old.

But having signed a new long-term deal at the club back in March, Bournemouth are clearly under no pressure to sell one of their prized assets.

And from Brooks’ perspective, would a move to north London even make sense in this moment of time?

Of course, the chance to work under Mauricio Pochettino, who has done a fantastic job developing young players in the last few years, and play in the Champions League will be hard to turn down.

However, looking at all of the attacking talent Tottenham currently have, you could easily see Brooks struggling to find regular game time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are all quality players; displacing either will be no easy task.

Unless one of the above names leave, Brooks may be better off staying at the Vitality Stadium.

The Wales international can, of course, play in a deeper position. But considering how good Moussa Sissoko has been in midfield this season and the ability of Harry Winks, there are no guarantees there either.

For now, it is probably best for Brooks to continue his development under Eddie Howe.
