Crystal Palace supporters in the Transfer Tavern are enthusiastically awaiting the arrival of the new season following the appointment of Frank De Boer.

The Dutchman becomes the first ever foreign coach to manage the South London team, and our resident Palace fans are eagerly expecting the club to complete deals for new arrivals.

No player has joined Palace as of yet, although media speculation has been brimming with potential arrivals ever since Frank De Boer took charge.

The 47-year-old is regarded as an Ajax legend and looks poised to visit his old team to recruit some fresh talent.

He also was the manager of Inter Milan before joining Palace, albeit for a much shorter period.

Our landlord believes that the Dutchman should return to the Italian giants and see who he could sign to strengthen his new side. These are the two players that De Boer should sign from Inter this summer.

Marcelo Brozovic

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Italian giants for a lengthy period; he was even reported to be the subject of a bid by Everton this Summer.

The Croatian midfielder excelled for Inter last season scoring six goals in all competitions for the club.

Renowned for his ball retention and passing abilities, his arrival would significantly improve the quality of Frank De Boer’s midfield.

In addition to these attributes, he can operate as a defensive, central or attacking midfielder. He even worked on the right flank for Inter in three games last season, which would provide Palace with priceless versatility and depth.

At the age of 24, there is still sufficient time for Brozovic to develop as a player – his tackling ability requires improvement.  This would be a significant signing for De Boer.

Davide Santon

Another Inter Milan player that De Boer should pursue is Davide Santon. The 26-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements last season and should be available at reduced price. He only made 15 appearances in all competitions last season for the Italian team, and his capture would enhance the quality of De Boer’s defensive unit.

He’s regarded for his attacking ability, and he would also provide Palace’s Dutch manager with greater depth, the former Newcastle defender can play at left or right-back.

Santon is arguably superior to the options that Palace already have in those positions, and considering he’s played in England previously, he would be familiar with the gruelling physical demands of the Premier League.
