The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were pleased when Divock Origi was sent out on loan last season. Clearly a very talented player, the Belgian has had a tough time since moving to Anfield. Unable to break into the first team and become a regular, it’s clear that he wasn’t, and isn’t, the finished article.
That being said, he’s still a very good player. His goalscoring record hasn’t been great lately, but as a Belgium international, he’s clearly very highly-rated. Still, a loan move made sense for him, and so far, he’s looking pretty good with Wolfsburg in Germany.
He has bagged 4 league goals already this season, and more importantly, he’s playing very regularly, which means that hopefully, he will be developing.
The Belgian has been discussing life in Germany with the Independent, and he has provided an interesting update on his Liverpool future. In the article with the Independent, Origi has refused to commit his future to Anfield, instead remaining coy on the matter, stating that it’s ‘difficult to say’ where he will play his football next season.
He might be unsure, but the Liverpool fans are seemingly of a different opinion. Over on the Liverpool fan Reddit page, they’ve been discussing the news, and whilst some remain uncertain on his long-term Liverpool future, a lot of fans are hoping to have at Anfield next season. Clearly impressed by what they’ve seen, Origi remains a supported figure amongst the Anfield faithful.
