Many Derby County fans have been slamming Wayne Rooney as the interim manager could not guide his team to victory in his first game in charge.
Indeed, the Rams slumped to a 1-0 loss to Bristol City at Ashton Gate as Famara Diedhou scored fairly late on in the second half to give the hosts all three points.
The defeat leaves Rooney’s team still rock bottom of the EFL Championship table as they have now won just one match in 12, sitting on a measly six points.
It has left some supporters thinking that nothing has changed since the sacking of Phillip Cocu and perhaps a new manager needs to be brought in to take the pressure off of Rooney.
For all of the possession that they had, the ex-England international’s side only managed two shots on target in the whole game, showing once again they are not clinical enough in front of goal and lack creativity in the final third of the pitch.
The former Manchester United and Everton star has not been in the best of form himself so far in the 2020/21 term, scoring just one goal and making no assists in ten appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Derby fan reaction to first game in charge for Rooney
These fans slammed Rooney on Twitter as they perhaps feel as if the 35 year-old is out of his depth as a manager:
Different management. Same old team. Time and time again. Heads straight down after too. Brill 👍

Rooney needs to be dropped big time, playing Holmes and Bird when out of form is shocking and playing himself he ain’t serious about management 🤦🏻♂️ need to be Shinnie and Knight in middle of the park
