Derby County: Fans slam Jason Knight’s display

derby fans react to takeover news

Many Derby County fans have flocked to Twitter to slate Jason Knight over his performance in the Rams’ latest Championship clash versus Bournemouth, which the Rams won 1-0.

The 19-year-old Republic of Ireland international started this game as part of the Rams’ attacking three, alongside Colin Kazim-Richards and Kamil Jozwiak.

Per Sky Sports, Knight had a notable positive impact on this game on numerous occasions. For example, he won attacking free kicks in the 36th minute and the 71st minute, while he also managed to assist a Nathan Byrne shot in the 57th minute that forced Cherries goalkeeper Asmir Begovic into action.

However, all of that wasn’t enough to please some Derby fans, who felt that Knight left a lot to be desired in this one. Perhaps the fact that, per SofaScore, the attacker lost possession of the ball a total of 14 times, played a part in their criticism – it was the fourth most of any Derby player.

So, what have these Derby County fans been saying about Knight?

Some supporters of the East Midlands club have been criticising the teenager on Twitter for his performance in this game.
