‘Different class’ - Rangers fans celebrate defender after big Aberdeen win

The Rangers fans in the Transfer Tavern finally have something to shout about after their team’s emphatic victory on Wednesday night.

Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty welcomed Derek McInnes Aberdeen to Ibrox last night on the back of two straight defeats in the SPFL. The pre-match pessimism surrounding the club due to weeks of speculation concerning the vacant manager’s position has been quashed somewhat as Rangers put in a valiant display to see off The Dons by 3 goals to nil.

Two goals from James Tavernier either side of half-time and a first-half strike from Carlos Pena proved to be the difference between the two clubs.

Prior to the match, Aberdeen’s manager McInnes had been one of the favourites to succeed Pedro Caixinha at the club, but his side hardly built a case for his appointment last night.

After the final whistle, Rangers posted confirmation of the result via their official Twitter page.

And it appears calls for Derek McInnes appointment may be put on hold for some time after his side’s drubbing in Glasgow…
