All kinds of football fans are unusually united in the Transfer Tavern today, still in awe of Barcelona’s incredible comeback against PSG last night.
The Catalans trailed 4-0 from the first leg at Parc de Princes and although nobody ruled out the possibility of them overturning the scoreline in front of their home fans, it was the dramatic manner of the ninety minutes that caught everybody by surprise.
Barcelona were well on course to even the tie when they grabbed three goals before the hour mark but Edinson Cavani’s strike put a huge dent in their plans – meaning they’d need another three to go through because of the away goals rule.
But Barca dug deep and after plenty of huff and puff mustered up three more goals in the dying embers of the match, including Sergi Roberto’s winner with practically the last kick of the game.
Pretty much everybody in the Transfer Tavern is full of praise for Barcelona’s unforgettable turnaround and performance, except for our Manchester United patrons.
