It has been a typically turbulent season for the blue half of Glasgow this season and their supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are optimistic rather than hopeful, that they can overturn Celtic this afternoon and reclaim the city’s bragging rights.

Rangers are currently without a permanent manager following the departure of Mark Warburton last month and more alarmingly they sit a massive 33 points behind their city rivals, with each club having played 27 games.

The Scotland striker was withdrawn at half-time during last weekend’s 6-0 rout over Hamilton and his replacement Joe Garner scored a scintillating second half hat-trick, to throw his name into contention for a starting berth this week.

Miller will be gutted to miss out on a game of this magnitude but nonetheless he will count himself very lucky if he does get the nod this weekend.

Clint Hill

Rangers’ temporary manager must think wisely about who plays in defence this weekend and veteran Hill could be forced to miss out.

The former Premier League defender could be left out as the Rangers boss looks for someone with a bit more pace in order to stifle the threat which Moussa Dembele will pose for Celtic.
