The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted when their side captured Dom Solanke from Chelsea over the summer. Choosing to run down his contract rather than renew his spell with the Blues, Solanke made the decision to move North to Anfield in search of more regular football, and he’s certainly had that.

He’s already made a few appearances for Liverpool this season, both in the league and in domestic cup competitions, and that certainly bodes well for his future. He even got a start against Everton in the Merseyside derby at the weekend, which is a testament to how highly he is rated by Jurgen Klopp.

That being said, the Englishman wasn’t at his best for the Reds at the weekend, proving next to nothing in the attack. Everton were there for the taking on more than one occasion, and Solanke did very little to make them pay.

Against West Brom on Wednesday, then, a change could be needed, with the Reds needing another win against the Baggies. Jurgen Klopp does have options, and so if he so chooses, he could decide to drop Solanke.

If he does make that decision, he should start 1 of these 2 Liverpool forwards instead – agreed?

Roberto Firmino

The obvious choice.

Roberto Firmino has been Liverpool’s first choice forward this season, and he has done pretty well. His goalscoring record is nothing special, but what he lacks in that area he makes up for in his general play.

He hasn’t played consistently over the last few weeks, with Klopp looking to carefully manage his fitness. It doesn’t appear that there is any other underlying issue, and so the Brazilian should be able to step in for a few games at least whilst Klopp works out what to do with Solanke going forward.

He’ll put in a good performance, no doubt.
