The Rangers supporters here in the Transfer Tavern were bitterly disappointed on Wednesday evening when their team were disappointing in a 0-0 draw against Kilmarnock, tarnishing their hopes of finishing as runners-up to Celtic this season.

The blue half of Glasgow has not experienced a great first season back in the top flight and the supporters here in the Tavern have been gutted at having to watch Celtic romp towards the Scottish Premier League title.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha will be desperate to finish the current campaign with a flourish and this weekend’s game with Aberdeen looks set to be a cracker of a contest.

Joe Garner

The former Nottingham Forest man hasn’t had a great first campaign in Scotland and he looked out of sorts once again during Wednesday’s stalemate.

A couple of the Rangers contingent are sat in the beer garden basking in the glorious sunshine and they are in agreement that Garner doesn’t bring a great deal of quality to the side, stating that he could well be dropped this weekend.

Martyn Waghorn

Another player who has not been great just lately is former Leicester City man Martyn Waghorn and a spell out of the spotlight could be just the tonic for the forward.

Waghorn, like Joe Garner, was a signing made by former boss Mark Warburton and there is every possibility that his face might not fit with the club’s new manager.

One Rangers fan is in agreement with the landlord, stating that Waghorn is often wasteful in front of goal, although he does wonder who else could come into the fold and play a similar role to the former Championship performer.
