Drop them: Caixinha must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Rangers XI against Motherwell

New Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is freshly into his spell as Gers boss, and fans of the Scottish giants here in the Tavern are still pretty reserved about their new appointment.

Mark Warburton was relieved of his duties to the surprise of plenty around Ibrox, meaning Caixinha has big boots to fill in terms of popularity and more importantly, results.

The Gers fans always make plenty of noise over by the billiards table here in the Tavern, and despite seeing rivals Celtic run away with the league title, the Rangers faithful are still happy with progress being made at the club.

Talk this week has turned to Caixinha’s team selection in the upcoming fixture against Motherwell. Our landlord thinks that there could be a few players dropped or rested, and we agree.

With this in mind, here are TWO Rangers players who could be axed from the starting XI against Motherwell today…

Kenny Miller

The experienced striker has Joe Garner putting him under pressure for a starting berth, and Caixinha could well opt for the former Preston man this weekend.

Miller is getting to the latter stages of his career, and he will no doubt have to get used to being rested or dropped as the final few years in his career shape up.

Jason Holt

Midfielder Holt has been a regular for Rangers this season and would find himself quite hard done to if he was to be axed this weekend.

However, Caixinha could well opt to freshen things up across the board, meaning Holt could well be a player who is moved out of the starting XI to give someone else a chance.
