Drop them: Rodgers must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Celtic XI against Rangers

Celtic head into today’s game with rivals Rangers knowing full well that they hold the upper hand over the Gers this season, with the Bhoys only dropping points in the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park a couple of months back.

The Celtic fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in a confident mood this week, and following their 2-0 win last week over Rangers in the cup semi final, they have been boasting about adding another derby victory to their record this weekend.

After a superb season in the SPL, Celtic will be wanting to finish on a high and manager Brendan Rodgers may well look to keep his squad fresh and give a few people a chance who have not played quite as much as they would look.

This obviously means that certain players would need to be dropped, so with this in mind, here are TWO Celtic players Brendan Rodgers could look to axe from today’s XI against Rangers…

Scott Sinclair

With Celtic having big games coming up including the Scottish Cup Final and already missing their star striker Moussa Dembele, Rodgers could opt to rest the tricky Sinclair.

The former Swansea man could well be happy to sit out and give others a chance this weekend, although missing a game with Rangers is not something most Celtic players will want to do.

Patrick Roberts

Another players Rodgers will want fit for the cup final is Man City loanee Patrick Roberts, who has been excellent for the Bhoys during his spell away from the English Premier League.

Roberts is still a young player but his ability is fantastic, and Rodgers can ill afford to lose him between now and end of the season, meaning a rest could well be in order.
