The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been thanking their lucky stars for the presence of a certain French stopper of late.
Despite remaining unbeaten in the Premier League, things have stalled for the north London side of late after a succession of draws.
‘Keeper Hugo Lloris has been key to keeping the side in games after a plethora of stunning saves and it’s not just the fans at the bar who’ve been waxing poetic about the Frenchman.
Teammate Eric Dier has lavished praise upon the former Lyon ace and has revealed that he believes the 29-year-old is the BEST custodian in the Premier League.
The likes of Petr Cech and David De Gea would have something to say about that, though the England international sees little past his teammate between the posts.
Following his stunning save to prevent Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels from firing ahead on Saturday, the 22-year-old stated (with quotes sourced by ESPN): “For me he is the best keeper in the league.”
“He is very underrated. I don’t know why that is, maybe it is because he is a very low-key guy.
”He is fantastic though. He is only interested in playing football.”
