Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that only players coming in is the talk of today with the Philippe Coutinho saga coming to the final stages.
Indeed, in a short amount of time we will finally know exactly where everyone stands with the Brazilian’s future being spoken about for the whole summer with Barcelona obviously keen on him.
For now, the Reds are staying to true to their word in terms of not letting the player go and fans would surely be unhappy if they went back on that now at this very late stage in proceedings.
It seems, though, that they are not quite out of the woods just yet with Guillem Balague on Twitter saying Barcelona are waiting in the wings with another bid if things change in their favour:
Barcelona “hoping” Liverpool start negotiating for Coutinho this afternoon. They have offer ready but haven’t sent it #Not4Sale #HeStays

Barca, then, are remaining hopeful of getting a deal over the line but for now the power is still with Liverpool and our local Reds are hoping that that is how it’s going to stay between now and the end of the window.
Landlord’s Verdict
The Coutinho saga has rumbled on and as it stands it doesn’t look as though the midfielder is going to go anywhere and instead stay at Liverpool.
That, of course, could still change with Barca clearly having the cash but Liverpool have held firm so far and it would be a big error if they changed that now.
Thoughts, Reds? Let us know below!
