Plenty of Everton fans have been lauding a link to Fikayo Tomori as The Telegraph have reported that the Merseyside club are keeping an eye on the possibility of signing the Chelsea dfender on a loan deal for the new 2020/21 season.
Indeed, the centre-back could be used as cover for Carlo Ancelotti’s team as they only really have Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina as senior players in that role in their current squad, with youngsters Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthew Pennington also among the backup options.

Comparing the statistics of the English international to those of Holgate, Keane and Mina in the Premier League in 2019/20, Tomori averaged the most tackles, interceptions, key passes, dribbles and crosses per game, as per Whoscored.

At just 22 years of age as well, Tomori still has time to grow and develop as a centre-back, and so perhaps he could do just that at Goodison Park over the next few years if he makes the move to Merseyside.
These Everton supporters on Twitter lauded the reports linking the youngster with their club:

Makes sense. Don’t need a CB per se but do need depth there. Any loan there makes sense. Todibo too. Maybe with views to buy.
Also gives us the chance to loan out Gibson and Branthwaite for the season and play weekly and develop. Ideally at least one being ready next season.— Andreas Wätt (@Wattawildworld) August 23, 2020
Stick an option to buy and I don’t see why not.

With an option to buy yes, wouldn’t mind knowing if we are looking at Sarr though, especially as he is on a free.

Its a yes from me,very decent player, player of the season in his one year loan when Lampard was at Derby, seems to have gone of the boil for chelsea as in they have not picked him as much later on compared to earlier in the season

Good deal gets us to give Gibson and Branthwaite another year to be ready as they not far off.A decent loan for them.
