Yesterday saw Everton record a big win against Crystal Palace at Goodison Park in the Premier League. With the game looking like it was petering out into a 0-0 draw, substitutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun stepped with late goals to give The Toffees a 2-0 win. However, it was the performance of midfield man, Idrissa Gana Gueye that had the fans talking.

Getting three points on the board is always the priority for the fans, and there’s an argument to say they wouldn’t have achieved that had Gueye not been playing. The Senegalese centre-midfielder is always a class act on the pitch with his N’golo Kante style of play, constantly harrying and pressing the opposition, winning the ball back and recycling it for teammates to advance up the pitch.
Idrissa Gueye has become a key figure for the Toffees in his two years at the club. The 29-year-old signed for the club back in summer 2016 when his former club Aston Villa were relegated to the Championship. Since that move, though, he hasn’t looked back and has shown everyone what he’s capable of in English football despite that debut season in the Premier League at Villa Park.
