Germany v Argentina - FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 - Final Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler has revealed that he would be open to a return to Premier League football.

The German stopper spent some of his youth career at Manchester United and was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the summer.

After emerging at Old Trafford, Zieler was unable to force his way into the Red Devils’ first-team – he spent some time on loan with Northampton Town – before leaving in 2010.

He has since blossomed in his homeland with Hannover, earning three senior international caps despite the presence of a number of rivals – including Ballon d’Or nominee Manuel Neuer.

Liverpool tracked the ‘keeper during the last transfer window, while a number of other English sides are rumoured to have been looking at him, and the player himself says that he is not ruling out a Premier League comeback:

“I really enjoyed a really great training in England, but never played for the first team [for Manchester United] in the Premier League,” he told Goal.

“But I don’t know what will happen, it’s hard to predict. I hope to have at least another 10 years [left in my career]. I hope I will stay healthy and can still play for a long time.

“For sure England is one of the countries that would be appealing – but it could also be that I will play for another 10 years in Germany. Football business is so fast moving, you should never look ahead for too long.”
