Rangers supporters were in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern over the weekend after seeing their side ease past Partick Thistle 3-0 at Ibrox on Saturday to secure a second successive victory under caretaker manager Graeme Murty.
The former Reading and Southampton defender took charge of the team following the departure of Pedro Caixinha last month, and led them to a 3-1 success over Hearts in his first game at the helm last weekend. And the Scotsman made it two out of two as goals from Ross McCrorie, Daniel Candeias, and Josh Windass secured a comfortable victory for the Gers, although they remain fourth in the Scottish Premiership table and still six points adrift of leaders Celtic.
Nonetheless, there has been a positive mood among our resident Rangers fans in the Tavern this week after seeing their team show signs of recovery after a testing start to the campaign, and given that they are now just three points adrift of Aberdeen in second, maybe things aren’t quite as bad as they seem at the Scottish giants.
And there has been more good news for those Gers fans lining up at the bar in recent days as midfielder Jamie Barjonas has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him there until 2020.
The 18-year-old came up through the ranks at Ibrox and made his senior debut for the Gers against Partick at the end of last season, yet has since gone on to make a further five first team appearances for the club, two of which have come this term.
And the starlet has been rewarded with a new deal with Rangers, which is news that has stimulated quite a response from several Gers fans on Twitter…

As long as we handle the transition stage well we should definitely benefit as some of the current crop of youth players step up! Exciting!
