Exclusive: David Norris doesn’t expect Leeds to sign another left-back

David Norris has recognised that Leeds could do with another left-back before the window closes – but exclusively told The Transfer Tavern they have other priorities.

The versatile Stuart Dallas, who played there several times last season, started the opening-day loss at Manchester United, although summer addition Junior Firpo was introduced at half-time.

Firpo then played the first hour against Everton last weekend at left-back before completing his first 90 minutes in a Leeds shirt in the Carabao Cup victory over Crewe in midweek.

But Ezgjan Alioski’s summer departure to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli means that Firpo is now Marcelo Bielsa’s only recognised player in that position, although he does have the assurance of Dallas filling in.

However, an injury to either of those would leave Bielsa with a potential crisis, but Norris told The Transfer Tavern that he doesn’t expect to see another left-back arrive before the window closes on Tuesday:

“I think they probably do, but I just don’t think it’s a priority at the minute, so I think they will probably just stick with Dallas doing a job when he needs to.”
