Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are still trying to deflect verbal jibes from our other patrons after a humiliating performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this week.
The Gunners completely capitulated in the second half after entering the interval with a one-nil lead, finishing the European double-legger with an aggregate defeat of 10-2.
That has inevitably lead to speculation over the futures of many at the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season, especially when coupled with the fact Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and manager Arsene Wenger are all yet to sign new contracts.
And another player whose Gunners tenure remains uncertain is midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is still waiting to be offered fresh terms despite his current deal, like Sanchez and Ozil’s, expiring in summer 2018.
That suggests the former Southampton youngster may leave north London during the next transfer window and according to Mirror Football, Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United are both ‘watching developments closely’.
It’s further added that the England man believes he may need a move to restart his international career, having not featured for the Three Lions since 2015, and even if Arsenal do open contract talks, there isn’t much chance he’ll sign a new deal.
