Fail to replace Karius, no Maguire signing: Liverpool’s nightmare scenario before season starts

Liverpool supporters were less than impressed with their Champions League performance against Real Madrid as they failed to make the most of a promising position.

The Reds weren’t particularly impressive in the Premier League last season as they only just managed to secure a place in the top-four on the final day of the season.

Although, with only a few weeks left until the start of the new campaign, there’re still a number of changes that need to be made if Liverpool are going to take next season seriously.

Worryingly, Klopp still hasn’t drafted in a goalkeeper and is in desperate need of another defence addition, so the signs aren’t looking good for the Reds at this moment in time.

So, here’s TWO things that could put Liverpool’s season in danger…

Loris Karius single-handedly cost Liverpool in the Champions League final as it was his two mistakes that handed Real Madrid two of their goals on the night.

And, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hasn’t made any great strides in signing a replacement so far this summer after giving up on reported target Alisson Becker.

So, the Reds could start the season looking worse for wear, with a nervy Karius possibly depriving them of even more success in the next campaign.

Liverpool have been linked with Harry Maguire recently as he continues to carry the nation on his shoulders at the World Cup this summer.

Dejan Lovren struggled to ensure defensive solidity at times last season, so the Reds will need to bring in a suitable replacement before it’s too late.

Indeed, failing to sign Maguire could cost Liverpool massively in the next campaign as he would ensure solidity and could contribute in the final third.
