Glasgow Rangers will kick off their Europa League group stage campaign against Standard Liege on Thursday.
Rangers have already come through three rounds of qualifying to make this stage of the competition, beating Lincoln Red Imps, Willem II and Galatasaray. They will now face Benfica and Lech Poznan along with the Belgian outfit as they attempt to make the first knockout round.

As the Ibrox outfit prepare for the midweek clash, though, Liege are in a difficult position. They played Club Brugge on Saturday, drawing 1-1. After the match, however, it was confirmed that three Brugge players had tested positive for Covid-19.
Therefore, they face a sweat ahead of the Rangers fixture as they wait to see whether any of their squad has contracted the illness. This news has attracted plenty of attention from the Gers supporters, and it seems they are torn. Some would be gutted to miss out on watching their side in European action, while others are eyeing a potential forfeit and three easy points.

That would genuinely be a real shame. I want to see how our team pit up against the likes of Liege. Would much rather it went ahead tbf.

Would rather play.
We wanted to get to the groups to play decent European teams so being gifted 3pts does nothing for me & in fact I’d be pretty miffed if the game is off tbf— dEBT shredder (@andybearz) October 19, 2020
Could be collecting 3 points without playing………week’s rest as well if game cancelled……. https://t.co/Sh3Cahltp5
